Add Vara to your Android home screen

The native Android app is not on Google Play yet. For now, add the Vara web app to your home screen with Chrome and open it full-screen.

Install via Chrome's "Install app"

Android doesn't have iOS's auto-jump-to-Settings flow — you need to tap "Install app / Add to Home screen" in the Chrome menu. After install, the icon lives on your home screen and launches fullscreen.

Must open this page in mobile Chrome / Edge / Samsung Browser (not the in-app browser of WeChat / etc.)

Install steps

  1. 1Open varaapp.site in mobile Chrome (use the button above or type the URL)
  2. 2Tap the menu (three dots ⋮) in the top-right of Chrome → choose [Install app] or [Add to Home screen]
  3. 3Confirm in the [Install Vara] dialog → tap [Install]
  4. 4Back to your home screen — the Vara icon is now there. Tap to launch fullscreen, like a native app.
