What is Vara

Vara is your AI research copilot for wet-lab scientists. Both manage your own experiments — log, tune, reproduce — and turn a paper, an AI-drafted protocol, or an SOP into a runnable experiment in one step.

What Vara does

  • Import plans from external AI — generate a plan in ChatGPT / DeepSeek / Claude in Vara's prompt format, paste it back, and parse it into an experiment in one click — no cold-start entry.
  • Import protocols — upload a PDF, image, or SOP and break it into parameterized, executable steps.
  • Reproduce from literature — drop in a paper; AI extracts the method and cites the source location.
  • Parameter engine — change one variable (cell count / MOI / concentration) and dependent downstream steps recalculate deterministically, not by AI guessing.
  • Source-confidence labels — every AI-extracted field is marked explicit / partial / inferred / missing for you to verify before running.
  • Full experiment loop — plan → build → execute → record → review → iterate, with AI-assisted failure review.
  • 10-discipline reproduction — content focused on wet-lab disciplines: life science, biology, chemistry.
  • Clients + APIs — Web and macOS, a home-screen web app for iPhone and Android (native mobile apps coming soon), with MCP and API access, plus bring-your-own-key (BYOK).
